Schools
We propose visits tailored to the classes’ school curriculum, in which to experience and learn about the feudal world and the close relationship that historically linked the castle to the surrounding area.
In agreement with the Direzione Regionale Musei Nazionali Piemonte, two visits are proposed for classes to experience the Castle of Serralunga d’Alba.
1. In the castle
Engagement, emotion, fun and interaction are the keywords for each proposal.
Guided tour with a traditional angle
The inner courtyards, defensive systems, monumental fireplaces and traces engraved on the walls tell the castle’s centuries-old history. These are discovered by the class with the guide’s company.
The visit –at teacher’s choice – is done with or without the use of teaching cards, which help students to memorise the special features of the building.
I and II cicle
- Duration: approx. 60 minutes
- Participants: max. 25
- Price: € 3/participant (open days/times); € 75/class (closed days/times)
Oh what a beautiful castle – Immersive visit
The castle: who lived in it? How did they live inside it? And where did they sleep? And where was the bathroom? And how did the seashells end up in the fireplace stone? Such a large castle and such a distant world must be explained while maintaining the excitement that their very diversity arouses in young children.
Content and language are produced according to the age of the pupils.

1. In the castle
Engagement, emotion, fun and interaction are the keywords for each proposal.
Guided tour – Traditional tour
The class is led on a tour by a guide. A brief analysis of the landscape, carried out on the outside terrace, is followed by a visit to the inner courtyards, with the discovery of the defensive systems, and then to the halls, with the small frescoed chapel, the monumental fireplaces and the traces engraved on the walls that tell the castle’s centuries-old history. Finally, from the third floor, there is a 360° view of the area, embracing the horizon as far as the Alps.
- Duration: approx. 60 min.
- Participants: max. 25
- Price: € 3/child (open days/times); € 75/class (closed days/times)
Life at the castle – Immersive visit
The traits of the castle; the layout of the village; the defensive systems and the interior spaces: what is still preserved, what is no longer there, what was never there. The class, directed by the facilitator to identify and read the traces, so as to not to stop at appearances and – why not? – by using a little imagination, witnesses everyday life in the 14th century, the administration of justice, food, social relations in the feudal world all taking shape.
- Duration: approx. 60 min.
- Participants: max. 25
- Price: € 5/participant
